Benchmark International Advises on the Sale of CH4 Gas Utility & Maintenance Services Limited to Smart Metering Systems Plc

Benchmark International is pleased to announce the sale of CH4 Gas Utility & Maintenance Services Limited to Smart Metering Systems Plc.

Formed in 2011 CH4 set off to deliver a service with safety, customer and client satisfaction whilst ensuring the development and training of their staff was always a key focus. From humble beginnings with a handful of staff the company is now entering its fourth year of trading where CH4 now employ some 250 staff across the traditional domestic, smart dual fuel and Industrial and Commercial metering sectors. The business has developed its own in-house design and fabrication department offering Rotary and Turbine Rig development including building gas reducing stations and metering stations to suit any needs of the client.

SMS Plc can now provide a completely integrated service from beginning to end, from project managing the installation of the gas and/or electricity supply and connection through to the procurement, installation and management of the meter asset, data collection and on-going energy management solutions. This breadth of service makes them completely unique in the industry. There are no other organisations in a position to be able to offer all of these services simultaneously, meaning that without SMS Plc customers would need to use several different providers to cover their needs.

Chief Executive of Smart Metering Systems, Alan Foy said: “The acquisition of CH4 is part of the Company’s strategy to gain direct control of a large proportion of our installation capacity for ongoing delivery of our customer contracts in the I&C and domestic meter markets.
